Freelance Motion Designer
Merge Rocks is looking for a Freelance Motion Designer for a short-term client project — creating a 2D product launch video from concept to final delivery.
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the whole process, not just animate ready-made assets.
About the project
You’ll be working on a product launch video for a digital product.
The project requires close collaboration with the client: understanding the product, shaping the story, preparing the visual direction and UI, and turning everything into a polished 2D motion video.
Format: Freelance, remote
What you’ll do
Lead the briefing and discovery process with the client
Understand the product, its audience, and key value proposition
Develop the concept and narrative for the launch video
Create or refine the script
Prepare the storyboard and visual direction
Create or adapt UI screens needed for the video
Produce the final 2D animation
Present your ideas to the client and work through feedback and revisions
Own the process from the first call to final delivery
What we’re looking for
Strong experience in 2D motion design
Experience creating product launch, SaaS, tech, app, or explainer videos
Proven experience managing video projects end to end
Ability to work with scripts, storyboards, visual storytelling, and UI
Strong product thinking — you can understand a digital product and turn its value into a clear visual story
Confidence communicating directly with clients
Professional English or Spanish
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the creative process
Nice to have
Experience with SaaS, FinTech, or other digital products
Strong Figma skills
Creative direction or art direction experience
Experience working with international clients or founders
